UCC21756-Q1: Can we connect FLT and RST together to go for global shutoff

Hi Team,

Hope you are doing good.

I am using UCC21756 in my 3 phase inverter application, In short circuit or Over current condition planning to shutdown all the 06 IC's together. For that we are thinking to use FLT pin, if we have any fault on secondary side of IC it will give immediate signal of FLT (pull down Vdd). Can we connect FLT and RST like as below mentioned  using a small RC to eliminate noise.

    Hi Venki,

    I would not recommend connecting FLT and EN pins together.

    When there is FLT (H-L) state change, then EN has to be used to reset the condition by setting to H-L-H transition. By connecting FLT to EN, RST can not be possible!

    However you can connect all FLT together as global shutoff and all EN/RST together and connect to separate IO for resetting the device.
