I am trying to configure the fuel guage with the Li-ion Polymer.

1. Where can i find the list of closely matched chemical ids ?

Nominal Capacity = 3000 mAh

Typical Capacity = 3050 mAh

Min Capacity = 3000 mAh

Cell initial Impedance <50mohms

Nominal voltage = 3.7 V

Initial Voltage => 3.8V

Limited Charge Voltage = 4.2 V / Cutt off voltage = 3.0 V

Temperature range = 10 -55 C (Charging) ,~20 -60 C (Discharging)

want to operate from 3.3 V to 4.2 V range.

To generate the chemical ID, data is required in the following Format:

Elapsed time (seconds)

voltage (mV)

current (mA)

temperature(Celsius)

How can i measure all this, this is not a part of the datasheet from the manufacturer ?

Hello,

You can use bqStudio to log this data and then you can format it in the way in which the tool requires.

So i have to order the fuel gauge Evaluation board + EV2400 to get connected with the bqstudio and then do discharge / charge cycle to get the data into the BQstudio ??

After that format to get the chemID ?

Hello,

All that is necessary for a ChemID match for the GPCCHEM tool is a log file of the data specified in the GPCCHEM user's guide and for this data to be formatted in the way specified by the user's guide. I was just stating that one way for this data to be collected is to use an EVM and bqStudio to log the values.

I have ordered the EVM for that specific gauge, so all i have to do is to perform experiment using the gauge & upload the obtained data into the GPC tool, it will generate the chem ID and i can integrate into my code to get the correct battery charging indication.

Hello,

Yes, the GPCCHEM tool will give you a report for the best chemID matches. You should choose the chemID with the lowest DOD % error from the GPCCHEM report. You should then use bqStudio to program this chemID to the gauge.
