LM5148-Q1: Vout gets stuck at 1.9V (instead of 12V) upon a reboot unless the input and output capacitance is fully discharged.

Part Number: LM5148-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5148

Hello!

I am using the LM5148 chip to generate 12V 10A from a 40-60V supply. My schematic is below:

12V Supply Schematic

I am having an issue when I restart (turn 50V input off and then on again in a short space of time) with no load. As I have a lot of bulk input and output capacitance, when I turn off the supply, I end up having a voltage on the input and the output for a period of time. I need to wait until the Vout drops below around 0.5V before I am able to restart the device. Has anyone else found this problem or do I have a design mistake? Is there something I can change in the soft start sequence to work around this?

Thanks in advance.

Ben
