TPS564257: Schematic review - buck converter don't work

Part Number: TPS564257

Tool/software:

Hi,

i created design with mentioned buck converter to convert 12V input to 3.3V for the STM32. But when i try the real device, i can't get 3.3 V output. And my input from 12 drop down around 0.6V. Can you pleas review my design and help me resolve, where could be a problem.

  • Hi Lukas,

I don't see a problem with your design but just one recommendation that Cff can be 30pF as datasheet recommend.

For your issue, pls try below:

    (1) Check is there any solderability issue with your device or If peripheral components has quality issue.

    (2) Check whether there is current limit setting of 12V input voltage. Could you try with ideal power supply as the input?

    (3) What is your load current? If you disconnected the downstream device, will there still be any issue?

    Thanks!

    BRs

  • Hi Lucia, thank you very much for fast response. I made some measurements with lab power supply and found the problem. My 12V supply is connected wrong (switched + and - ). I apologize for the unnecessary thread. And thank you very much once again.
