I have a question about TUSB1046. the question is that our CPU output signal is eDP, can it be connect to TUSB1046 directly? and then connect from TUSB1046 to Type-c connector as DP signal?

Hi,

Yes, you can connect the eDP signal directly to the TUSB1046A-DCI and then output to the Type-C connector.

Hi,

You can use the EVM as the reference schematic, please see this link https://www.ti.com/tool/TUSB1046EVM for the EVM schematic.

TUSB1046A-PCI can be configured in pin-strap or I2C mode, there is no special FW needed.

Hi,

So you will not use the Type-C connector for this design? If this is the case, please consider using TDP142, and you can use TDP142 EVM as the reference design.

Hi,

You would need to use a PD controller to support DP Alt Mode over Type-C, and you can use the TUSB1046A EVM as a reference on how to connect the CC, SBU, and CAD_SNK.
