Hello
My customer would like to know what users can do with only pin configuration and what else users further can do with I2C. Could you summarize this, please?

Hi Kazuhiko,
Thanks for reaching out.
May I know what is the customer and application here?
With TPS552892 which is non-I2C version(no SCL and SDA pins), the output voltage is fixed with external output feedback resistors.
If the customer would like to adjust the output voltage dynamically with MCU which is more likely used at USB PD and wireless charging applications, it is recommended to select I2C version TPS55289. And moreover, they can adjust the output current limit threshold, output voltage change slew rate, change the PFM mode or FPWM mode, read the protection status register and etc.
BRs,
Bryce
Bryce,
Thank you for your response.
Even without I2C, can users also adjust some degree of the output current limit threshold, change some degree of slew rate and change the PFM mode or FPWM mode by pin settings?
Best regards,
K.Hirano
Hi Kazuhiko,
Without I2C, the PFM or FPWM mode can be set by MODE pin, the output current limit threshold and output voltage change slew rate is fixed.

Bryce
