BQ25798: External BATFET

Hello,

Is it possible to use this device to control an external BATFET? My customer wants to discharge more than 6A. If not, what device would you recommend that is similar to bq25798 but can handle higher discharge current?

Hi Michael,

The BQ25798 needs external circuitry to drive an external, parallel BATFET as explained at

https://www.ti.com/lit/an/sluaat7/sluaat7.pdf.

Hi Michael,

I think you are trying to implement below:

If so, the resistor is from comparator output = FET gate to SYS voltage.
