Hello,

I am currently working on a design using the BQ25750. The EVM FET is a AON6226.

The Input voltage MAX will be 15Vdc and I am only charging a 4S LiFePO4 pack at 500mA.

I would like to use a smaller (cheaper) FET option, but I am unsure where to start, since all of the examples are for much higher current.

Do you have any recommendations?

Hello Alex,

We've used the AONS66408 at 250kHz and the AON6380 at 600kHz. With a charge current of 500mA, you can probably look into getting an even cheaper FET than these 2.

Do you know what frequency and what inductance you will be using?

I am planning to set my frequency at 300kHz and my inductor at 10uH, but that is just following the EVM.

I am not the most familiar with picking parts for a switching application.

Hi Alex,

For SWFETs, please follow Ethan's recommendations. For the ACFET and BATFET, we recommend AON6276. Please let us know if those work for you.

Hello Alex,

One more thing that might help is that the datasheet has a guide on selecting FETs. You can refer to section 9.2.1.2.8 Power MOSFETs Selection in page 66 for information on how to chose FETs.
