LM74700D-Q1: Won't Zero Output

Part Number: LM74700D-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM74800-Q1,

Tool/software:

I follow www.ti.com/.../lm74700d-q1 on page 15 and use 12V Input; however, when I toggle the enable pin, the 12V output only drops to 11.5. Never Zero.
Please advise.

No TVS, mosfet = IRFP4468PbF

Thank You.

  • Hi Trika,

    Welcome to E2E!

LM74700D-Q1 has a MOSFET that will not block the power path. If GATE is high, MOSFET will conduct. If GATE is low, its body diode will conduct, and output will still be high with higher PD of FET. If you want to block the power path as well, please consider controller which are capable of driving back-to-back FETs. LM74800-Q1 is one example.
