TPS2552-1: Negative power supply connect to the input

According to page one of the datasheet, the typical application of TPS2552-1 is USB power delivery with reverse voltage protection.

Our evaluation recently is the reverse input polarity protection.

We would like to understand whether it does matter if the input of TPS2552-1 is connected to the negative power supply.

Is TPS2552-1 suitable for the application of input polarity protection?

Or any alternative could advise us in your expert opinion.

    Hi Ben,

    In this case, reverse voltage protection refers to cases where VOUT > VIN.  I do not expect any of our USB power switches will protect against an inverted supply input.  For input polarity protection, I suggest looking at a separate circuit such as an ideal diode/ideal diode controller.
