TPS25942A: What will happen when Vin=3.5V and Vout=3.53V

Part Number: TPS25942A

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer has a design and found that TPS25942 has an operating condition that Vin=3.5V and Vout=3.53V. In datasheet, only Vout-Vin > 10mV, tps25942 will block the reverse current. I was wondering what will happen in TPS25942 when Vout-Vin <10mV? Could you pls help to comment ? Thanks!

Rayna

  • Hi Rayna,

TPS25942A reverse blocking mechanism is based on a comparator. When Vout-Vin > V_revth, it will block the reverse current (you mentioned this above). When the Vout-Vin < V_revth, the eFuse won't be able to block the current and continuous current of (Vout-Vin)/ron ~3mV/42mOhm = 71mA will flow in this case.

    Best Regards,
    Arush
