Tool/software:
Dear community,
I can achieve successful learning cycle of the fuel gauge but need some clarification about finals steps before exporting GOLDEN image.
In the TI instructional video "How to perform a successful learning cycle with gauges" https://youtu.be/WAcxrGDb68g?si=oZ8xAjwe5rHxSR0z it does not instruct to make specific stapes that are mentioned in the "SLUA903–July 2018 Achieving The Successful Learning Cycle". Those steps are in the chapter "5 Conclusion" and are as follows":
Before saving the Golden File, set Update Status to 02 to disable IT gauging, set the Qmax Cycle
Count to 0, and set the Cycle Count to 0. For a pack side gauge, this ensures that when the pack is
assembled and gauging and lifetime data is enabled, the cycle counts start from 0.
After successful learning cycle Update Status is 0E and is decoded as follows
If I will change Update Status to 02 this means I will add these properties to my GOLDEN image:
1,0 = QMax updated, Ra updated
Gauging() command. 0 = Disabled
is_QMax_Field_Updated—QMax has updated in the field. 0 = Not updated
Since this final step is not mentioned in both sources natural question from me side is it critically important? If I will make Update Status 02 I understand I will need to enable Gauging before releasing battery to the market. I lean my question more toward the "is_QMax_Field_Updated" flag. If I will change it to 0 = Not updated do I need to make sure that new battery will be fully discharger and fully charged for the first cycle in it life to properly update Qmax? What if client will not do this full cycle?
