Tool/software:
Customer is looking for UV/OV protector with SIL3 level. The voltage derating of the UVLO and OVP pin shall be higher than 60V.
It looks that TPS2662 doesn't meet it. Is there any alternative solution?
Conditions: 12Vin, 250mA. Derating >=60V
Hi Brian,
Please refer TPS2660, TPS2663. UVLO pin is high voltage pin in these devices.
Generally, in some devices we design UVLO pin rated for higher voltage to enable direct connection to IN. But, OVP pin always low voltage pin.
Can they use resistive ladder or local Zener on OVP to meet their requirement ?

Rakesh
Thanks.
Customer thinks the workaround you suggested is not good to convince TUV engineering. What competition device customer is interested in is MAX17608. in which it would be a better one solution. Does TI have similar one to compete without workaround? thanks.
Unfortunately, we don't have device with OV pin high voltage rating.

Rakesh
Hello Rakesh,
Since TUV SIL3 requirements, the 65V derating is needed on the OV pin. I'm not sure if you are aware of this matter and improve on the next Gen eFuse?

Hi Brian,
Is it to address any single point of failures (such as shorting R3) on the resistive ladder connected to OV pin ?
BR,
Rakesh
I think it is kind of fault at OV pin.
In the d/s, it specifics the 5V only.

Brian
