TPS7H5001-SP: Any ways to moitor a triangle wave?

Part Number: TPS7H5001-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC1825-SP, UC1825,

Tool/software:

Hi team,

1. Customer would like to monitor a triangle wave that can be monitored via RAMP-pin in case of UC1825-SP. Are there anyways to moitor it?

They think the monitoring is required to design the system by understanding the relationships between the triangle wave, error amp output and Soft-start.

2. If the trianlge wave of the device has the 1.25V offset like UC1825-SP as below, could you tell what the voltage is?

Noriyuki Takahashi

  • Hey Noriyuki,

Can you please clarify which device you want to monitor the triangle wave?
You list multiple different parts and the answer changes depending which one you are talking about.

What triangle wave are you referring to for monitoring?
Is it a voltage they are generating to run in voltage mode?
Is it the current triangle waveform?
More information is required on this waveform to give a proper response.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

  • Hi Daniel

    Sorry for confusing.

They try to use TPS7H5001 istead of UC1825. So in the past, they designed their board with UC1825 and observed the triangle wave of UC1825 for the designing. So now, they try to do the same approach to design the new board with TPS7H5001. Does this make sense?

Please let me confrim below at first.

    1. They want to observe the triangle wave of TPS7H5001. Is it possible?

  • Hey Noriyuki,

The TPS7H5001-SP does not generate a triangle wave that the customer can observe.
