LM5143-Q1: Output current limited and the sharing of current by phase is instable (not equitable)

Part Number: LM5143-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5143

Tool/software:

Hello,

I'm working with a LM5143-Q1 in 2 phase synchronous buck 12V to 5V, i want to know if it's possible to get 100A(50A/phase) in interleave 2 phase 1 output with this controller. I have obtained only 25A right now and the current by phase isn't equitable. Thanks.

  • Yes, it should be possible if the power stage can handle it. I notice you're using inductor DCR current sensing, so make sure the inductors are themally balanced and the DCRs are equal over temperature. The XAL series is a bit lossy - take a look at Cyntec for better core loss in particular.

Btw, I recommend using the LM5143 quickstart calculator to check your design.

    Regards,
