Tool/software:

Hi,

i have simulated one pfc circuit using ucc28063 asper your reference design but while simulating the given schematic there is no pulse at the GDB and GDA

I think that this ic model is not working fine kindly provide solution for this

  • Hello Nithin,

The UCC28063 PSpice simulation model available from TI.com (https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slum207) has worked in the past. I am unable to verify it because my PSpice installation has become corrupted and I need to reload it when I get a chance.

The segment of your schematic that you posted does not show enough of your model to be able to diagnose any cause for trouble.

I suggest to download the "stock" TI.com model and run it without modification to verify your simulator.
Then you can progressively make modifications to a copy of it and test each change as you go along.
Avoid making all changes at once, so you can identify which change may be causing trouble.

    Regards,
    Ulrich

  • Hi,

I had tried with simulation model that you have sent but with this model also no change

no gate pulse, IC is not working

  • Hello Nithin,

I was able to reload the latest version of PSpice for TI this morning and successfully ran the UCC28063 simulation model in SLUM207.

As you can see in my screen-snippet, there are GDA and GDB pulses.  I didn't run it extensively; just enough to prove that the "stock" model basically works.

Perhaps something has gone wrong with your simulator files or installation.
I recommend to completely uninstall your existing PSpice for TI (including shortcuts), and download a brand new installation from TI.com.
Based on my experience this morning, it will take about 1/2-hour to uninstall, and will require a reboot to finish.
Then another 30~60 minutes to obtain and install the new program.  Don't forget to reboot BEFORE installing the new one.

Once you can run SLUM207 (unmodified) successfully, you can start incrementally modifying and testing a copy to conform toward your design goals, as I suggested earlier.

    Good luck.
    Regards,
    Ulrich

  • Hi,

I tried with newly dowloaded software eventhough there is no gate signal

  • Could you share me the spice model of  the UCC28070?

  • Hello Nithin,

This is what the schematic diagram of the SLUM207 file looks like on my screen:

Your schematic is completely different and I don't know what can be wrong with it.
I repeat my recommendation to run SLUM207 without any modification first to verify that your "PSpice for TI" simulator works, before making any changes to the circuit.  If your simulator does not work, there is no point to attempt to debug a schematic.

PSpice models for the UCC28070 are available here: https://www.ti.com/product/UCC28070#design-development

  • Hi,

While opening SLUM207 file it is showing an error that i have attached here

  • Hello Nithin,

That message is not an error message, it is an informational message saying that your libraries have been updated.

Simply click "OK" and it will clear away.

    Ulrich
