TPS22811: Is there a spec for expected current sharing mismatch in 2x parallel configuration?

Part Number: TPS22811

Tool/software:

Hi experts

I have an application requiring 20A load current control.

Can a 2 device parallel configuration support this?

Or is the current sharing mismatch large enough that this will exceed the allowed load current for one of the devices?

If so, can you recommend an alternate product or configuration to support 20A?

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Jim B

  • Hi Jim,

Yes, 2 device paralleling will support this application. You will have to perform sequential startup. This will ensure that device is able to perform startup. mismatch between the device is only due to PVT variation and the paralleling of devices should work fine. Please refer to section 8.1.2 for more details.
