Hello ,

Can i use TPS65987DDK PD controller for USB type C alt mode for HDMI 2.0 application

Basically i am making Display and from my source i have only HDMI output .  We need to transfer power and HDMI data over single cable that why USB Type C selected

Do we have more details how to configure TPS65987DDK for HDMI in ALT mode

    Hi Aziz,

    TPS65987DDK is not capable of supporting HDMI alt mode for USB-C directly. TPS65987DDK does what all other PD controllers do, and requires the HDMI alt mode from the display to be converted to DP DisplayPort alt mode, using an HDMI to DP converter chip. This chip typically exists in special cables or dongles that are used. TPS65987DDK only supports DisplayPort DP alt mode for displays.
