TPS2663: Is it possible to have reverse polarity protection without current blocking?

Part Number: TPS2663
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM74500-Q1, LM74502-Q1, LM74930-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

We are using the eFuse to protect a motor stepper motor driver board. We want to provide protection against reverse polarity since the driver would not stand opposite polarity, hence the initial choice having reverse polarity and current blocking. We have observed that when we drive high inertia load at high speed because of back emf and because of having the reverse current blocking, the output voltage goes up and we suspect this is causing the driver to fault. Is there a way to keep have reverse polarity protection without reverse current blocking? My understanding from the datasheet is that they go together but I wanted to ask to make sure. This is our schematic for your reference.
