TPS7H2201-SP: Vin minimum question

Part Number: TPS7H2201-SP

Tool/software:

We have an application at 1.5V Vcc switching 0.5A.

We would like to know the concerns if the tolerance of the 1.5V rail is 3% - that would drop below the recommended minimum operating voltage but above the typical UVLO levels.

What parameters would be impacted?

Do we have any other solutions that can operate at the 1.5V - 3% input?

Thanks

Steve

  • Hi Steve,

As you mentioned above, 1.5V is the minimum recommended voltage for the TPS7H2201-SP, and if the rail has a 3% tolerance, the input voltage may drop below 1.5V.

The TPS7H2201-SP was not characterized below 1.5V, so I cannot say for certain which parameters, if any, would be effected.

Since the 3% rail tolerance would still keep VIN extremely close to 1.5V, and above the typical UVLO falling threshold, any spec shifts from the datasheet electrical characteristics would likely be minimal. But it is still important to note that when operating outside of the datasheet recommended conditions, specifications in the electrical characteristics table(s) are not guaranteed to hold.

As for other options, the TPS7H2201-SP is our lowest-voltage eFuse, so I do not believe there is a better solution for this input rail.

    Thanks,

    Andy
