TPS22960: TPS22960

Part Number: TPS22960
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22917, TPS22916

Tool/software:

Hello,

In our current design we are using this sensor power switch P/N: TPS22960DCNR to control the sensor power.

we have added a resister of 1M Ohm between  SR pin and Ground.

Datasheet says:

The slew rate (rise time) of the device is internally controlled in order to avoid inrush current, and it can be slowed down if needed using the SR pin. At 3.3 V, TPS22960 features a 75-μs rise time with the SR pin tied to ground, and a 660-μs rise time with the SR pin tied high. Both channels will have the same slew rate set by the SR pin.

The SR pin needs to be pulled low or high but instead there is a 1MΩresistor from SR pin to ground as per datasheet

--here i am also attaching our design schematic for your reference ,please check once and let us know comments on the same

What will it do?

waiting for your response.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your question. I have a few questions for you.

1- Is there a reason why there is an output resistance of 2ohms?

2- Are you supplying any voltage on the 5V_SEN_SUP1?

The SR pin should be pulled low in this case, but I would recommend to pull it to ground without having the 1 Mohm resistor. I also would like to recommend using the TPS22916 or TPS22917 for better performance overall.

    Thanks,

    Sam

  • Hello,

    Thanks for your response.

we are not supplying any voltage on the 5V_SEN_SUP1

Is there any issue with 1M resister? what will be the impact if using 1M resister?

  • Hey Pem,

Is there a reason why you are using the 1Mohm resistor to the SR pin? Could you also provide where it was specified in the datasheet?

    Thank you,

    Sam
