TPSM84624: TPSM84624MOLR selection procedure

This condition will likely run into negative overcurrent limit on TPS84624. You might want to look at the TPSM843620 to see if that works for you.

As mentioned in the other e2e thread, I checked with some team members internally on Table 2 of the datasheet and there is not much information available on why the VOUT limitation except that it is either due to NOC (negative current limit being hit) or stability (slope compensation variation at higher duty cycles). Given that the datasheet limits the VOUT to 3.5V max at around 5V input, the 4.2V output can potentially see issues once designed. So, I would highly recommend using a device that does not show this limitation like TPSM843620. TPSM843620 has a minimum negative current limit of 2.95A which should not be hit in this case.

It is not characterized but from the char data it is around -2.5A. In this case, looks like NOC will not hit. However, as I mentioned, there could be other limitations related to stability preventing this design from working over 3.5V with a 5V input.
