Tool/software:
Hello,
I am designing a protective circuitry with BMS functionality, where the pack is usually removed after every discharge cycle. The protective circuitry stays with the application. The pack can also stay in the application for charging and which should therefore support cell balancing. I am searching for a battery management IC with functionalities similar to the BQ76952:
High side driver
Current reading
I2C or SPI interface
cell voltage reading and cell balancing
The user connects the power terminals as well as the cells with a plug. We plan on using two 6S packs, which will be used in series. Ideally for this 12S configuration only one management IC is necessary. It is important that the connection sequence can be variable: for example the higher cells can be connected first, then the power of the lower pack, then the cells of the lower pack, than the power of the higher pack.
The BQ76952 needs the cells and power connected with a certain order, otherwise the behavior is not always as intended. Especially when connecting cells before bat-
I would appreciate any suggestions for a suitable IC for this use case.
Best regards, N
