TPS2116: Inquiry about Divider Resistor Necessity in TPS2116 for Primary MODE

We recommend to put a resistor divider on the PR1 pin to ensure the device is operating in the recommended operating conditions as specified in the datasheet and with the key specification highlighted below: 

Operation outside of these conditions is not ideal as there could be significant variation(timing, on resistance, response to inputs, etc) from datasheet specifications as these were characterized under the recommended operating conditions.

Thank you for your answer.

Since both P5VA and P5VUSB will essentially have a 5V input, I believe they will not fall outside the recommended operating conditions. Even if both inputs were 3.3V, they would still be within the recommended operating conditions.

Given this, I do not understand why a resistor divider is necessary.

Could you please explain the possibility of falling outside the recommended operating conditions without a resistor divider?

Thank you for the detailed information and the link to the FAQ and excel calculator. I understand that without a resistor divider, the power mux will switch from IN1 to IN2 once IN1 drops below 1V typ. This information will be very helpful for our schematic design.
