Hey Battery Gauge team,

I have a customer evaluating the bq40z50-R1 for a project and we were hoping you could help to provide guidance on the calibration process.

In SLUA734A, Section 2.4.3 (CC Gain/Capacity Gain Calibration) mentions to apply a known current (typically 1 A to 2 A). Are there any limitations to applying a higher current of 10A-20A?

Any feedback you can provide on this would be much appreciated!

Hi Matt,

It is possible to apply 10A-20A for the CC and Capacity Gain Calibration, however it is typically just doing the same thing that if you were to put 1A across it and seeing what the difference is between what is being applied and what is being measured by the gauge. I would also ensure that you have the correct sense resistor attached if you are running at this higher current.
