TPS65916: Control the power sequence with external MCU

Part Number: TPS65916

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am going to use the PMIC IC either TPS659162 in my current design.

Please find the attached Image and below STEPS for the better understanding of the requirment,

STEP 1 : Board will ger powered from the USB, 5V.

STEP 2 : 5V is given to the TPS659162 and FX3 simaltaneously.

STEP 3 : PMIC-TPS659162  will make one of the GPIO High (Power supply from PMIC is not generated yet) and this GPIO will enable the Switcher to generate the FX3 power supply and then it will ON the FX3.

STEP 4 : Now, FX3 will enable the PMIC IC's supply sequence as per our requirement.

As I have read the datasheet, it mentioned that there is internal NVM which will pre programmed and control the power sequence and GPIO as a default functions but my requirement is slight different : at power ON, PMIC will ON and make one of the GPIO high to ON the power of the FX3 and FX3 will ON then FX3 will control the PMIC power sequence through I2C/SPI.

Kindly provide your suggestion, how can I achieve the requirement with the TPS659162.

Regards,

Alpesh
