BQ34Z100-G1: Learned Status always remains 0x06

Hi,

We are in the process of acquiring a new Golden Image, following the procedures from SLU4903 & SLUUBW5A . But the gauge already comes in pre-programmed with a different image in it from the factory. Due to which, the Learned status on the Fuel gauge is always 0x06 .

We have never seen the Learned Status change throughout the Learning Cycle Procedure , And suspect if the Golden Image what we acquired is correct ?

Hello Shilpa,

If you want to complete a new learning cycle, you can manually change the Update Status (Learned Status) register back to 0x04 to start a new learning cycle. The register is found in data memory in the Gas Gauging section.

I have changed the Learned status to 0x04 per your instruction.

Just need a few clarifications prior to acquiring a new Golden Image.

The .gg file from the gauge currently reads, "Gas Gauging","IT Cfg","Cell Terminate Voltage","2000","mVolt"

Does this mean, the battery should be discharged till 2V , during learning cycle?

Yes, the battery should be discharged down to 2V for the learning cycle.
