TPSM84212: Inverting Buck-Boost?

Hi Tom,

We have YPS62933 which can be configured as Inverting Buck boost and set Vout as -12V. We also have an application note talks about how to configure it as IBB.

Thanks for your reply, but this does not answer my question.  My question is 'can you make the TPSM84212 do IBB mode' as mentioned on the product folder?  Basically can the GND and Vout be reversed to provide a negative output through the GND?  If not, then what other module (not IC) can be used to do this that exists in a TO220 package?

Hi Gui,

Attached is a snippet of the application needs.  Can you provide a TI based solution using the TPS84212 that replaces the CUI device?  I'm concerned that there will be stability issues using the TPS84212 in place of the CUI device.  Perhaps you can offer a quick simulation to validate?  Customer is currently not confident the TPS84212 will work here.

Sorry that TPS84212 and I don't have the simulation model. There is Pspice model and and Webench model on TI.COM, but it can't be configured as IBB.

And can you please share what's the end equipment and what's the Vin and Load? Will you considering using the module TPSM86638 ?

I realized I left out the 'M' in the OPN.  My question is for the TPSM84212 not TPS84212.  This is a 3-pin module similar to the one CUI offers.  Is there any IBB support for the TPSM84212?  There is no application example in the datasheet for IBB and no ability to do it in webench.  The customer is having a hard time believing it will work at all.  I will check on the Vin and Load in the meantime, but I'm looking for a way to demonstrate why IBB works on the TPSM84212.
