Hi, I'm using a TPS25830Q1EVM-040 in order to link a tablet to a monitor, in order to charge the tablet and send data to the monitor.

Except I'm currently in the CDP mode with a power approximate to 8W and instead I would like to be in Power Delivery mode with a higher power.

It seems I can't find how to switch the TPS25830Q1 from CDP mode to PD mode, would anyone know how to?

Hello L B,

The TPS25830-Q1 does not support PD as it is a Type-C and BC1.2 charge port converter with max output up to 5V and 3.5A.

Our automotive PD controller solutions are the TPS25762-Q1 (single-port) and TPS25772-Q1 (dual-port). Both devices supports up to 65W USB PD output power per port.

The following are the EVMs for these devices:

TPS25762Q1EVM (single port charging only)
TPS25772Q1EVM-CO-149 (dual port charging only)
TPS25772Q1EVM-CD-150 (dual port charging with USB 2.0 data)

Thank you, and with the TPS25830-Q1, it is still possible to send data as well as charge the device at the same time?

Hello L B,

Yes, the TPS25830-Q1 supports charge + USB 2.0 communication. The device also integrates short-to-battery protection on the DM_IN and DP_IN in addition to VBUS, CC1, and CC2.
