TPS54610

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54610, TPS54680

I am using two of the TPS54610's in an application but discovered I need to have ratiometric tracking during startup for these two voltages. I am using the preset internal soft-start time; aka no external capacitor. Can this be done as simply as tying the two SS/ENA pins together? Would I need an external capacitor to make this work? Other parts show this as an option but this part didn't seem to have any literature regarding this possibility.

  • You could tie the two SS/ENA pins together and use a single SS cap.  The down side is that under a fault condition for either rail, both rails will be reset (SS/ENA is pulled low under internal fault conditions).  Alternately you could consider the TPS54680 which has tracking features built in.
