TPS7A80: Operating lifetime estimation

Part Number: TPS7A80

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Could you let me know how to estimate the operating lifetime of TPS7A80?
My customer would like to use TPS7A80 for the 12 years expected operating lifetime system.
So they'd like to make sure TPS7A80 is okay for this use case.

Best regards,
Kazuki Itoh

  • Hey Kazuki,

I have messaged test and will get back to you with what they say.

    Best,

    Juiette

  • Hi Juliette-san,

Do you have any update on this?

    Best regards,

    Kazuki Itoh

  • I did not receive an update from test, I will follow up. Thank you for the reminder

  • Hello,

How are they using our device?  Temp, duty cycles, etc..

We need to build a mission case and then loop in QRE.

2 QUALIFICATION / RELIABILITY Quality and reliability are built into TI’s culture, with the goal of providing customers high quality Products. TI’s semiconductor technologies are developed with a minimum goal of fewer than 50 Failures in Time (FIT) at 100,000 Power-On-Hours at 105⁰C junction temperature. TI builds simulations, accelerated testing, and robustness evaluations into the Product development process. During the Product development process, TI carefully assesses silicon process reliability, package reliability, and silicon/package interaction. TI also evaluates manufacturability of the Product to verify a robust silicon and assembly flow to enable continuity of supply to customers. Non-Automotive Products are qualified with industry standard test methodologies performed to the intent of Joint Electron Devices Engineering Council (JEDEC). Other standards (e.g. IPC/MIL/ANSI) may be used when appropriate. Automotive Products are qualified to meet the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC)-Q100 standards. Qualification test results for Automotive and Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Products are made available to customers upon request.

    Best,

    Juliette

  • Hi Juliette-san,

    Please find below:

    - TJ: max 60℃

    - Input voltage: 3.3V

    - Output voltage: 1.2V

    - Output current: 0.1A

    - Duty cycle: 100% (Always on)

    - Power cycle: once or twice per year (20 times in 12 years)

    - Conditions: Air cooling without fan. The ambient temperature is 45℃.

    Best regards,

    Kazuki Itoh

  • Thank you Itoh-san! I will pass this along to QRE.

This is a holiday weekend, so their response may be delayed.

  • Hello Itoh-san,

do you have this information in a "mission profile" format?

    see column B for example

    best,

    Juliette

  • Hi Juliette-san,

    I've never seen this format.

Does this mean the temperature profile of the junction temperature?

Actually, this is industrial application, not ECU.

    Best regards,

    Kazuki Itoh

  • I have created an email chain with our QRE team.
