Tool/software:
Hi,
my customer using TPS7A5701 in a new application. They would like to know if they should activate the internal charge pump or not.
What is the impact on switching noise?
Is the external bias needed 3V or higher?
Best regards

Hi Franziskus,
You can see the noise performance with and without the charge pump enabled by reviewing the datasheet plots in figures 6-14 through 6-32.
Please see section 7.3.5 in the datasheet for guidance on whether a BIAS rail is required for your design, or if you can use either the charge pump or BIAS rail. For lowest noise performance, use a BIAS rail that is at least 3V higher than Vout.
Thanks,
Stephen
Thanks Stephen!
Customer concern is to get best performance and least noise.
Their input voltage is 1.2V and the output voltage is 1V.
Any other advice?
Best regards
Hi Franziskus,
I would use the TPS7A57 without the internal charge pump enabled and with the external bias supply if they have that available. If they don't have a bias rail available then they will have to use the internal charge pump.
Thanks,
Stephen
