BQ76952: Cell Balancing Active Cells (CB_ACTIVE_CELLS) reading when using 15-cell configuration

Part Number: BQ76952

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am currently developing a BMS that monitors a 15-cell battery pack. To use 15-cell configuration instead of 16, we added a 0ohm resistor between VC14 and VC15 as shown in the image below.

Assuming that Cell 14 is being actively balanced, what would the 16-bit return value of the subcommand CB_ACTIVE_CELLS (0x0083), when read, be?

Would it be

0010 0000 0000 0000 (2)

or

0100 0000 0000 0000 (2)

or something else?

Thank you,

Kyungjae Lee
