BQ25750: How do I know that a battery pack has been removed or reinserted in a system using the BQ25750?

Part Number: BQ25750

Tool/software:

Hello, Expert.

How do I know that a battery pack has been removed or reinserted in a system using the BQ25750?

  • Hello Jang,

The BQ25750 doesn't know by itself that a battery pack is present. There are a few workarounds to this.

If a battery pack is not present and the BQ25750 is charging, the BQ25750 will oscillate between charging and not charging. You can use an MCU to see if the charging flag keeps oscillating between charging and not charging.

If the battery pack has a thermistor, you can use the TS_ADC/TS_STAT to determine if the thermistor is present or not.

If the battery pack has a battery gauge/monitor, you can use an MCU to talk to the gauge/monitor to see if the if the battery pack is there.
