CSD95410RRB: A/PGND

Part Number: CSD95410RRB
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS536C7

Tool/software:

Hi team,

customer has already validated the design , but they notice they didn't separate the A/PGND on the power stage and the controller TPS536C7.

since they see you define different GND but connect them together, so they're wondering if there's necessary to do some separation for noise coupling?

  • Hi Fred,

It is best practice to keep AGND and PGND separate to reduce noise and then connect the PGND and AGND either in a star connection near both of those pins or connect them a couple layers down or so in an internal GND plane. This is typically done in the layout.

In the customers case, as long as IOUT and PWM signals were not routed close to Vsw or other noisy areas of the board, they should be ok.

    Best Regards,

    Nash
