BQ25185: Integratin BQ25185 and BQ2980 for Single Cell Li-Ion Battery

Tool/software:

We are working on a commercial product for which we are using BQ25185 as Single Cell Li-Ion Charger and BQ2980 as Battery protection IC. USB-C is the power source for the Charging. the issue we are facing is, we are not sure how to configure both ICs together in a system. Will battery connect to both ICs on their respectiveSCH_Schematic1_2024-06-25.pdf pins? How Grounds will be connected for them? System ground will be separate from the BMS ground?

We are attaching the schematic. Kindly check it and let us know if we are doing it right or is there any issue in our schematics? Thanks

    Hi,

    The charger BAT pin should connect to the PACK+ of the protection IC. The GND pin should connect to PACK-.

    Your schematic for the BQ25180 looks good, however though I'm not an expert on the BQ2980. I recommend creating a new E2E thread with part number BQ2980 as for the thread in order to confirm the schematic.
