Hello,
Our customer asked if BQ25618 VSYS buck converter can be disabled while BATFET on state.
I checked on the datasheet but BQ25618 does not have such a function. Is my understanding correct ?

Hello,
If the battery is charging and there is an input, you need the buck converter to charge the battery due to the power path. It cannot be turned off. If there is no input and the device is not in OTG, the converter is off.

Hello,
Thank you very much. I understood that the buck converter cannot be turmed off while an appropriate power source is plugged in. I also understood the buck converter can be turned off at OTG mode though, the datasheet is also specify BQ25618 will be in boost mode in this case.
Considering 4.2V VBAT or fully charged battery and 5V OTG specification, the BQ25618 shpuld turned into boost mode even though OTG operation ?
best regards,
Hi,
There is no buck converter in OTG/boost mode, it is a boost converter (operating the forward buck in reverse). Boost mode is not enabled by default. Please see Section 8.3.4 to enable boost mode.
