Tool/software:

I have a few questions regarding UCD9222.

In the circuit diagram, the signal that controls UCD9222 is as follows.

1. Connect FPGA to PMBUS interface
2. Connect to DSP and VID interface
3. Connect via JTAG interface

There are three cases as above.

In this case, I have the following questions.

The hardware configuration is DSP + UCD9222+UCD7242 structure.

1. Is there any problem in operating UCD9222 with DSP's VID interface without PMBUS and JTAG interface?

2. If not, how to control and operate UCD9222 through PMBUS.

3. If not, install and operate the firmware of UCD9222 through JTAG.

Please ask for help. thank you

Hello,

As per UCD9222 datasheet ... the PMBUS_Alert and PMBus_Cntrl signals should be pulled up to 3.3V with 10k resistor.

The PMBUS_Clk and Data pins should be connected to the I2C interface from the SoC (or provide test points)

The JTAG interface should have test points such that a JTAG connector can be connected for debug purposes.

I have confirmed your answer and configured it the same as the development board.

There are three questions I would like to ask.

1. Is there any problem in operating UCD9222 with DSP's VID interface without PMBUS and JTAG interface?

2. If not, how to control and operate UCD9222 through PMBUS.

3. If not, how to install and operate the firmware of UCD9222 via JTAG.

1. No expected problem.

2 and 3 are provided for debug "just in case".

If 1 shows a problem, we can follow up on 2 and 3. This will require pulling in the UCD team. I'm on the 'C66x team.

So if we summarize it, would it be like this?

1. If I purchase UCD9222 and install it on the development board, it can be controlled with the DSP's VID signal without additional firmware (via JTAG) and control signals (via PMBUS).

2. If UCD9222 does not operate due to DSP's VID control, drive it through JTAG or PMBUS.
