EV2400: Faulty EV2400?

Part Number: EV2400
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Tool/software:

Hi,

I just purchased an EV2400, and I'm not sure whether it is faulty.

When I connect it via USB none of the lights come on, I can see a USB device (Vendor 2047 - Composite) which appears as a HID compliant vendor defined device in Device Manager.

However I cannot get BQStudio to connect to it.

Does the fact than no LEDs light up when the EV2400 is connected via USB suggest that it is faulty and should be returned? Or should I continue with trying it under different versions of Windows?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
Toby

  • Hello Toby,

Are you able to test this using another computer? What version of Windows are you using?

    Regards,

    Jonny.

  • Hi Jonny,

Thanks for your response - Yes I tried 3 different computers and Windows XP, Windows 7 & Windows 11 - Same result, no LEDs.
Whilst I was able to see the USB device enumerate as described above, I had mixed experiences with running BQStudio and the firmware updater for the EV2400.

I would like to simply know whether the LEDs light up when USB is connected or not - For example, do any of the LEDs light up when connected to a powered USB hub that isn't connected to a computer? This will help me answer whether the EV2400 I have is faulty or not. I don't want to waste a lot more time installing different versions of Windows only to find out that the EV2400 I have is faulty.

Please could you answer this simple question: Do any of the LEDs on the EV2400 light up when the device is connected to a powered USB hub that is not connected to a computer?

    Many thanks,
    Toby

  • Hello Toby,

Yes, the three LEDs should turn on when the EV2400 is powered up, I have confirmed this behavior with my EV2400 and a power supply. If yours does not do this, then it is possible that your EV2400 has been damaged.

    Regards,

    Jonny.
