TPS54560: power bounce issue

Part Number: TPS54560

Tool/software:

Hi Sir,

My customer found the V-out has the power bounce issue when the V-in turned off, it will damage the system.

Could you please help to fix this issue? Thanks!

Vin = 12V; V-out = 5V, I-out = 3A.

When Vin = 0V(turned off the power-in); measured the V-out waveform at C106 and get voltage peak-to-peak is 17.6V.

  • Hi Henry,

    This is strange.  Need couple of clarifications from your side.

    1. Does issue happens during transition from VIN 12V to 0V?. Or when input is completely discharged to VIN=0V as shown in the above fig.? In any condition i would like to see VIN, Vout and Switching waveform during VIN 12V to 0V condition. Can you please share the waveforms.

    2. What is the load which is connected to TPS54560?. Is there any possibility to disconnect the load or reduce the load current to check if issue is seen?.

    Thanks,

    Nitya
