Hello,

We are looking for a functionally safe (based no IEC61508) single cell LFP protection chipset that can perform OV and UV at a minimum. Over current would be also good to have, although there are other ways to achieve that.

Is there any chipsets that can provide this? Or should I use something like tps3700-q1 to control external back to back mosfets?

    Hello Prithvi,

    The best option would be the BQ2980. It has:

    • Voltage protection:
      • Overvoltage (OV): ±10 mV
      • Undervoltage (UV): ±20 mV
    • Current protection:
      • Overcurrent in charge (OCC): ±1 mV
      • Overcurrent in discharge (OCD): ±1 mV
      • Short circuit in discharge (SCD): ±5 mV
