TPS25810: Reverse Current Protection

Part Number: TPS25810

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I have a customer with the below inquiry. Let me know what you think and thanks in advance!

"I would like to know if the TPS25810 has reverse current protection?

In my application, one use case can have a USB-A computer feed 5V into the TPS 25810 (USB Charge Port Controller).

I would like to avoid this situation of USB power contention. One option would be to use an ideal diode and another option would be to use an INA with a sense resistor to detect backward current flow  and disable the TPS25810 through its enable pin. One of my concerns is the voltage drop. I need to charge iOS devices with as much as 3 A of current so I would like to have a solution that has little resistive loss.

Would you be able to recommend something? Any thoughts about this would be greatly appreciated"
