BQ35100: BQ35100 Gauge coulomb counter operation?

Part Number: BQ35100

Tool/software:

Hello,

I just want to confirm the following for ACC mode:

The Counter does not function when GE is OFF-Correct?

The Coulumb Counter starts and continues counting When GE is ON? It doesn't matter if gauge_start/stop() is sent. This correct?

The datasheet table 6.3 mentions Update every 30 minutes otherwise GE =Low...This makes me think that the counter is active even when GE is OFF...is this in fact the case?

  • Hi Craig,

When GE is low the device is off. The coulumb counter will do nothing.

The gauge needs to be configured for this mode, a gauge start cmd needs to be initially sent, and the GE pin must be asserted, for the CC to start or continue.

No, When GE is low the CC will not function.

    Regards,

    Evan
