TPS65400: Device startup error

Part Number: TPS65400

Tool/software:

Hello,

My customer is testing the TPS65400 operation on a board they designed as shown in the circuit below.

TI_PMIC_TPS65400RGZT.pdf.

When they measured VDDA, VDDG, and VDDD after inputting VIN 12V and CE high according to the device startup sequence below, the output values were as follows.

 - VDDA & VDDG = 0V, VDDD = 1V

Q1. Please review whether there is a problem with the customer's circuit above.

Q2. VDDA, VDDG, and VDDD output voltages are abnormal. Please give us advice on where to check to ensure that the device operates properly.

Thank you.

  • Hi JH,

Pls kindly let me check and get back to you during these days.

  • Hi Lucia,

Are there any updates for the customer's inquiries?

    Thanks,

  • Hi JH,

Could you pls share me customer and their application? For the schematic, I don't find the reason that could cause wrong VDDA, VDDD and VDDG output voltage.

Firstly, you can refer to normal operating voltage of VDDA, VDDD and VDDG:

Could you pls double check with customer:

    (1) Is this problem only show up with one board or all boards? If you replace the device with new one, will this still exist?

    (2) Check if any potential soldering quality issue with the device and the components.

    (3) Double check that whether CE is pulled high. Could you pls measure the waveform together, VIN, CE and VDDA?

    Thanks!
