TPS763: output have a step

Part Number: TPS763

Tool/software:

Hi team,

We met an issue on TPS76318, when power up, output of TPS76318 has a step. I was wondering if TPS76318 has current soft start. And can you pls help analyze the reason? Thanks!

schematics:

yellow: Vin, Green: EN, Blue: Output

After zoom-in, we see a step on output. Why is not increasing with one slope?

  • Please provide snaps with input current and output current (through R301-shorted) waveforms while ensuring that there are no ceramic capacitors present at the output node as shown on the schematic. This will help us to diagnose the issue further.

Please note that this is a 25-year-old part and we do not have high quality data on start-up measurements for this device with the conditions shown in the snaps. We have better performing LDOs which can meet the desired specifications and we can provide higher product support on those. Please respond to this thread if you'd like to explore similar products and we can help pick a part for your application.

    Thank You
