TPS25830A-Q1: data line switch

Part Number: TPS25830A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2583XAQ1EVM-147,

Tool/software:

hi expert,

From the data sheet, Under client mode, once the EN/UVLO input is at logic high, the data line switches are turn on. Under CDP/SDP mode, the data line switches are only turn on after Rd assert.

i an confused about the Rd assert, it means just CC1 need Rd, or CC2 need Rd.

from my customer's test, if set in the client mode, the data communication is OK,  the data line switches are turn on. if set in the CDP mode, customer set the CC1 have a Rd(5.1kΩ pull down), CC2 open, the data line switches are not turn on(DP DM can't communication), if set in the CDP mode, customer set both CC1 and CC2 have a Rd(5.1k Ω pull  down), the problem still exists.

so how to turn on the dataline switches in the CDP mode, how to set the CC (pull down or open)。

  • Hello Colt,

Are they testing with their custom board or the TPS2583XAQ1EVM-147?

If it's a custom board, has TI reviewed their design?

What exactly is the Sink device they are connecting to the USB port to test data communication in Client mode and CDP mode?

  • hi SEONG,

i have send the schematic check list and schematic from the Email。

A urgent new question is when customer change the mode of TPS25830A-Q1, from Client mode to CDP, after multiple mode change test, customer find DM IN and DM out can’t pass through, but DP IN and DM out can work normal in client mode, At this time ,the CTRL1=0, CTRL2=1.

EN is high. Could you help review this problem first, tomorrow I will onsite debug, if you have time, I want book your time at Tuesday, pls help propose the time (that works for you), I will book a meeting with you to discuss this problem. Thanks.
