I would like to know how to handle the VC1 pin.

My customer is going to use a battery with a thermistor.

My customer is going to use it with the following configuration. In that case, how should I handle the VC1 pin?

Or is the connection configuration wrong?

Hello Ryusuke,

You could connect V+ to VC1 and short VC2, but this is only for a configuration with 1 cell.

Hi Siddharth,

The battery is a 2 cell series 7.4V with a thermistor.

The battery has only 3 terminals(V+, V- and NTC. So could I connect V+ to VC1 and short VC2?

If not, how do I handle VC1?

Hello Ryusuke,

Could you send me a picture of the battery?

You would have to access both cell terminals to use this gauge. If you only have access to the 2p and 1n terminals, you would have to use a different gauge. We would recommend the bq34z100 for your application.

Hello Ryusuke,

That wouldn't work. The VC1 and VC2 pins are for the least positive and most positive cells respectively. This could work if the customer is using a single cell, but not for a 2s configuration.
