TPS54560B-Q1: Current sharing possible?

Dear TI-support team,

is it possible to connect two or more TPS54560B-Q1 ICs in parallel in order to get more output current?

The output is current-mode controlled and the COMP pin is available so two COMP pins and the FB pins could be tied together I think. A similar TI application is described here: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva389/slva389.pdf

Hi Lyto,

It looks like you could, but there is nothing to shut off comp on the second device. So you would need to have feedback to both devices, and cut the gain in half by using a lower Rcomp value. Also if you want devices to be 180 out of phase you would need to come up with an external clock to interweave the phases.

Thank you. I will have a current feedback into the FB pin, because I need a current driver. So I connect the output of my Current-Shunt amplifier to both FB pins?

Hi Lyto,

You are correct about feeding current directly into both FB pins.

You can simplify your design by using another device. Are you constrained only to use TPS54560B-Q1?
