TPS55289-Q1: output capacity when Vin=12V and Vout=20V

Hi team,

According to the datasheet, TPS55289 can deliver 60W from a 12V input voltage.

But according to Figure 5-9, the max output current is 4A when Vin=12V, Vout=20V. Does it mean TPS55289-Q1 can output 80W when Vin=12V and Vout=20V?

Hi Grey,

From the average inductor current limit value, TPS55289-Q1 can support 80W from 12Vin, but the thermal performance would be poor. It is recommended to select TPS55288-Q1 which has better thermal performance if needed.

Hi Bryce,

Thanks for reply. My customer is now using MPQ4262 in a wireless charger project. And I find the performance of TPS55288 and MPQ4262 is basically consistent. Do we have any spec advantages that can attract customers' interest?
