TPS2373-4EVM-758: PoE not working with crossed cable

Hi,

I'm facing issues powering the evaluation board by a PSE with a standard crossed cable.

I've tried to power a standard PoE device with same setup PSE+cable and it works, hence the problem is related to the development board.

Any help to understand this issue?

    Hi Francesco,

    Thanks for your reaching out.

    - May I know if it is a new TPS2373-4EVM-758 and it "failed" at the 1st test?

    - Is it an open load test or your have a load? If have a load, what is the load power?

    - The "failure" could be a configuration issue since there are some jumpers on the evaluation board. Please configure as:

    J11 short

    J12 short

    J5 short to VSS side

    J10 select Class3

    J7 select Class4

    R39 make its resistance less than 0.5kOhm

     

    - If above methods do not work, could you let us know the PSE part# and send us the register data of the PSE so we can check what is the failure.
